Spreading some “Ho HoHo’s” this Season! This December, Avalon Consulting played Santa to a group of underprivileged children under the patronage of the AkankshaFoundation, a Mumbai based non-profit organization with the vision of empowering children through education.Loaded with a sack full of goodies, our team visited a group of 70 children, aged between 9-12 years, at one of Akanksha’s learning centers at Parel, Mumbai to throw a Christmas party for the kids. What followed was an afternoon of fun and frolic during which we interacted with the bright-eyed, enthusiastic and fun loving children and the committed and highly inspired group of teachers from Akanksha. We spoke to the children about their interests, backgrounds and heard them talk about their aspirations. We had also arranged for some snacks, sweets and the quintessential Christmas Cake for the kids at Akanksha. The children, in turn, were whole heartedly accepting and eager to please. They were excited to portray their talents and interests and had organized some outstanding performances for the afternoon. We were in for a real treat of traditional folkdances, awe-inspiring headstandsand singing and dancing to catchy Bollywood numbers. The children danced and sang without inhibitions and pulled in their teachers and us in the celebrations as well. We were also presented with some colourful Christmas cards and posters that the children themselves made for us. What started out as our effort to do our bit to spread the joy of the festive season and ring in the New Year with some excitement for this group of children, turned out to be an extremely enjoyable and highly enriching experience for us as well.This certainly was the best way to make sure that the next year is one HAPPY New Year! Avalon Consulting is conscious of the role it can play to improve society and is committed to contributing its part by organizing such events for the less fortunate throughout the year.
