In a cover story with Construction Times, Abhimanyu Roy, Executive Director at Avalon Consulting, discussed the transformation of India’s roads and highways sector and the opportunities it presents.
Abhimanyu highlighted that despite a decline in construction pace, ongoing projects offer significant opportunities. The allocation of Rs 2.7 lakh crore in the Budget 2023-24 will enhance project quality and generate more revenue. He emphasized factors like traffic patterns, climate conditions, and stakeholder involvement in road design and adoption of new technologies like drones and BIM to streamline processes. The future holds increased infrastructure development and capacity augmentation, offering contractors lucrative prospects, he added.
