Chennai: CII hosted Chemvision 2016, an event focusing on the opportunities and challenges in the chemical industry. It brought together an eminent audience of business leaders, industry experts, analysts and consultants who follow the Chemical sector closely. Mr. Premchand C, Partner and Executive Director at Avalon Consulting was invited to address the audience, and he shared with them views on whether Indian companies can emerge as global players in the fine chemicals space.

A comparative view of India’s strengths and weaknesses vis-à-vis China in this sector was also presented. The flavours and fragrance, food additives, and Home & Personal Care segments were identified as attractive opportunities for the fine chemicals companies.
