Mumbai: This year’s Fresh Produce India convention, FPI2018 was held in Mumbai at the Trident Hotel on May 2nd 2018. The event attracted 250 delegates from more than 20 countries. Avalon Consulting was represented by Mr. Asish Puri, Vice President, who was invited for a workshop at the event. Mr. Asish spoke about the scenario of horticulture in India comprising of key trends driving demand along with the supply side dynamics as well as the challenges being faced related to exports.
He also shared examples of entrepreneurs who are bringing innovation into this space. In conclusion, Mr. Asish outlined reasons why the horticulture sector (especially fresh produce) has not attracted as much investment as was required.
